MP: Iran May Have to Leave Safeguards Agreement
TEHRAN – An Iranian MP warned that the Islamic Republic might be compelled to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Safeguards Agreement if the West persists with its policy of pressure and “oppressive sanctions”. Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, who is leading a parliamentary delegation to Algeria, made the remarks during a meeting on Monday with Ibrahim Bougali, President of Algeria’s National Assembly.
